Australia Day - 20.6.17
We looked at different examples of aboriginal art and then we tried our best to create our own aboriginal style paintings.
We have learned to sing the song called Kookaburra. It is an Australian song.

Europe Day 19.6.17
Tour de France
We learned all about the Tour de France and we brought our own bikes and scooters from home and took part in our own bicycle race.
We enjoyed experiencing a French Cafe. We practised speaking in French. We learned how to say hello, goodbye, thank you, yes and no. We had the opportunity to taste croissants, brioche, and French bread. We had a drink of chocolate milk and we enjoyed listening to French music. 😀😀
The Eurovision Song Contest
We have looked at the different countries that make up Europe and found where they are on a map. We used Google Earth to look at what it's like in each country and talked about what that country was famous for. We discovered some of our favourite foods were created in Italy and some of our favourite football players play for Spain. We also discussed The Eurovision Song Contest and looked at the different countries that take part. We listened to some of of the best and worst Eurovision songs and marked them out of 10. Here is a video of us enjoying some of the music.
We ended a brilliant day with an ice lolly!
This half term, Leanne from YoKids is teaching us yoga! It's lots of fun!
We have been reading The Giant Jam Sandwich and noticed how all the people worked together to create the huge sandwich. This gave us an idea!
It was delicious!
Today we planted cress seeds. We talked about what the seeds would need to grow. We are keeping a seed diary and monitoring how much the seeds grow each day.
Here are some pictures from today's Easter egg hunt. We had to find a paper egg hidden in the playground and swap it for a chocolate egg!
Class 3 have been baking! Today we followed instructions to make Easter nest cakes.
This term we having been looking at self-portraits. Each week we focused on a different area of the face. We used a mirror to study that area and practise drawing it. We then brought all of our skills together to create a self-portrait which we painted using watercolours.
We've had a fabulous day raising money for Red Nose Day! Thank you to everyone who brought in a donation.
Here are the children who took part in the Class 3 joke competition. We had a great time laughing at all the jokes. The winner was: "where do cows go on a Saturday night? .... to the mooooovies!"
We have been learning about the different animal groups. When we were focusing on reptiles, Mrs Taylor brought her pet tortoise for a visit!
We have been looking at the poem Rosemary Rudd by John Foster. It has brilliant adjectives to describe the squelchy, gooey mud. We have been feeling different objects to come up with our own describing words to use in a poem. Here are some of the words we came up with:
